CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:Prana Flow Vinyasa: These classes have a dynamic energy and emphasize the unity of prana (breath/energy) and movement to create an embodied state of rhythmic flow. Prana Flow is an energetic, creative full-spectrum approach to embodying the flow of yoga and these innovative classes are best for students seeking a yoga practice that enhances awareness, inner/outer strength, fluidity and movement meditation. Inspired by Shiva Rea and the Vinyasa Collective.
Level 1/2 classes introduce this dynamic sequencing and movement. Level 2/3 classes are meant for those with Vinyasa Yoga experience looking to take their practice to new depths. The Open level classes will offer options for both beginner and experienced practitioners alike; please honor your experience as you test your edges in these classes.
Easy Flow: This class is recommended for brand-new students, those new to Flow-style yoga or anyone wanting a methodically paced; “easier” class that still emphasizes the connections between breath and movement. Principles of proper physical and energetic alignment, breathing and mindfulness are taught in basic sequences. In the Easy Flow classes you will build a foundation to support you in the Prana Flow Vinyasa classes should you choose to try those.
Yoga for Everyone: These classes introduce yoga asanas (postures), detail alignment and integrate stretching and breathing exercises with straight-forward sequencing that is accessible for all levels. These classes are recommended for those new to yoga, stiff athletes or anyone looking for a deeper focus on breath and alignment.
Yoga for Athletes: This Open-level class focuses on the muscles groups most utilized by the season at hand. Simple flows and straight-forward sequencing will allow the athletes (and mere mortals) to experience the “zone” where mind, breath and movement effortlessly unite. By learning proper intentional breathing and mindful movement, athletes may more easily enter the effortless state of peak performance.
Iyengar: The focus is on alignment, technique, and modifying postures with props. Great for all levels and those with special conditions.
Yoga Therapeutics: Experience yoga with an orthobionomist’s perspective in this gentle, restorative class with therapeutic poses tailored to student’s needs. These classes are open to all students.
Candlelit Restore: These classes have a contemplative, down-tempo energy and aim to dramatically enhance freedom in the body while calming the nervous system and energetic grounding. Open to all students, including brand-new beginners (and everyone who insists they aren’t flexible enough to do yoga). Restore classes offer a balance of meditation, calming breath work and slow, very deep stretches that intend to stimulate circulation, promote a sense of stillness within and foster greater embodiment and mindfulness. Restore classes are also excellent Pre-Natal Yoga classes. (Please inform the teacher that you are pregnant).
CLASS LEVELS:Please note LEVELS when choosing your classes:Level 1/2 is for beginning/intermediate students or anyone looking for a gentler class with simple sequencing and more focus on alignment.
Level 2/3 is for intermediate to advanced students with at least 6 months of regular yoga practice who are looking to take their practice to the next level.
Open level classes will have options for everyone from beginners and advanced practitioners. In Open level classes it is important to honor your current krama (stage) and listen to your body in order to realistically and consciously push yourself without hurting yourself!
